Keeping My Resolutions

January 17th, 2012

As you may have gathered from my last post, I’m all about staying on top of my resolutions this year. Things I’ve done so far:

  • Cleaned out our basement closet, Aedan’s room, and our guest room/office closet (all with Sean’s help, of course).
  • Gotten up 15 – 30 minutes earlier every weekday morning to have breakfast with Aedan and/or do a little house cleaning. This has been awesome. Last week, we even stopped and had breakfast (at McDonald’s, but still) and had a fabulous time, and he has started asking to have breakfast together in the mornings. I love it.
  • I’ve made a thrice-weekly appointment with a friend of mine from work to meet at the gym. Oh, fine, we’ve only made it once so far, but we’re going tomorrow. And Friday. For sure.
  • I’ve been working on my cross-stitch fairly frequently, so I’m making some definite headway on finishing at least one project this year.
  • I made pumpkin oatmeal for breakfast last week for Sean and me. Look at me cooking. Pretty sure that’s more than I cooked all last year.
  • Um, the reading? Yeah, I might still be reading too damn much. At least, when it comes to books. I need to keep working on the blog reading, though. Okay, fine, I’m totally sucking this one up. I’ll keep working on it.

So I’m not off to too shabby of a start. Oh, and one thing I definitely forgot to include on my resolutions was time with friends – yeah, I definitely need more of that. Coffee is a start, but there’s going to have to be more more more to get me back on track. Let’s get this party started.
